"Seeing is Believing" by Tia W, Class 5sp, Age 10

***********************

Seeing is Believing

Chapter 1
One murky day Crystal and Rose were playing hopscotch in the wide green field. They decided to go and explore the deep dark woods.
*
Chapter 2
When they got there they saw that the trees stretched up to the murky sky. They heard some footsteps behind them and Rose and Crystal were getting worried so they cautiously hurried through woods but tried not to look obvious.
*
Chapter 3
They carried on walking but they could still hear the footsteps stomping behind them. They turned around and saw a big dark shadow and the footsteps got louder
*
Chapter 4
Rose, being the youngest and most shy of the pair, started to get worried and she told Crystal about this so they started running quickly and eventually they came to a log and Crystal jumped over it but she didn’t know there was a hole on the other side! Rose jumped over as well so she wasn’t alone.

*
Chapter 5
When they were in the hole they saw there was a small dark narrow tunnel so they started to creep down it cautiously so as not to make the ceiling fall or the walls crumble.

*
Chapter 6
When they finally reached the end they saw an old wooden door with rusty hinges and cobwebs. Crystal tried to find a way to get through it when she saw an old key wrapped up in a cobweb .
*
Chapter 7
The girls got the key from the cobweb carefully as to not attract any spiders and Crystal opened the door to reveal a magical, beautiful land. Rose and Crystal were amazed and bewildered at what they were seeing! There was an array of colours from the rows of beautiful flowers and there was a sweet smell of roses and they could feel the glorious Summer sun beating on their faces and the sky was as clear as glass and as blue as the ocean.

*
Chapter 8
They walked along enjoying the magnificent land whilst people were waving friendly and market sellers were calling to them asking if they were seeking any goods. The girls just giggled and merrily skipped along.
*
Chapter 9
They came to a harbour and they could smell the sea salt and fishes were being fed by friendly travellers and Rose even thought she had saw a glistening dolphin leap out of the water. When Rose turned around she saw Crystal leap into the water and again so she was not alone she followed her.

*
Chapter 10
When Crystal finally came to the second harbour on the other side of the magical land she got out and was dripping more than a broken tap and all the water formed a large puddle of water spreading every second around her spoilt soggy trainers.
*
Chapter 11
Crystal had gone halfway back to the portal door and realised that Rose was gone! Her heart was pounding 100 miles and hour and she was breathing deeply and she couldn’t think straight.

*
Chapter 12
Crystal was looking everywhere but she forgot to look at the second harbour! She sprinted back there and she saw Rose curled up in a ball weeping and breathing heavily. Crystal called her name and she got up ran to Crystal and gave her such a big hug she almost got suffocated.
*
Chapter 13
Crystal woke up from her sleep and she was shocked was this a dream but there is one lesson in this story and that …Seeing is believing

"The Secret Mansion" by Tia W, Age 9, Class 5sp

***************************
The Secret Mansion

On my street there is a turning. It is a turning that no-one drives down. I had always been curious of this turning as I wanted to know what was at the end of it. Once me and my friends got too curious and we travelled down the road. Just before we went someone had told us that a rumour was going around about the road that there was a haunted mansion on the end of it but despite that we still wanted to see for sure...

"The Ghostly Diary" by Tia W, Age 9, Class 5sp

The Ghostly Diary

Dear Diary,

Today was extremely bizarre. I went down for breakfast and suddenly I was levitated into the air and moved around the room. It was exhilarating. I couldn’t believe it. It was a breathtaking experience. But It was scary at the same time! I must go now as it is very late.

"My Secret Place" by Tia W, Age 9, Class 5sp

*******************************
Tia has created a setting for a book. Like in many classic tales & myths another secret world is hidden from everyone except the main character.

My Secret Place

At the bottom of my garden I have my tree house. My tree house is just a normal tree house. It's quite boring really, that is from the outside. On the inside it is my secret place. I am the only one who can see the things in my secret place. If you looked inside all you would see is a plastic table and chairs, but when I look inside I see a beautiful open land with flowing rivers and rows of colourful, sweet smelling flowers and clear blue skies. It is a perfect place to go if you want to get away from your troubles or just have peace and quiet.

"The History of the Vikings" by Sarah N, Age 8, Class 4

*****************************
THE HISTORY OF THE VIKINGS

One breezy winter’s day a wise old priest stood gazing longingly at the deep misty water. His name was Johnson and he had grey curly hair. All of a sudden a tatty and battered ship came sailing along like a snake heading towards its prey. The sea suspicly waved to and fro forcing the boat to swerve. Then CRASH it landed! The strange visitors leaped out of the boat and galloped across the pebbly shore.
What they will do now we don’t know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Welcome to the Haunted House" by Sarah N, Age 8, Class 4

*****************************
WELCOME TO THE HAUNTED HOUSE!

Step in through the old gates,
Be as quiet as a mouse,
We’re going to sneak,
And take a peek,
Inside the haunted house!

Ghosts hoot in the hallway.
Ghouls lurk on the stairs.
Imps and spirits
Have pillow fights
To catch you’re unawares!

An empty piece of armour
Clanks loudly down the hall.
A wizard bakes
Revolting cakes
You wouldn’t like at all!

So, now you’ve had a quick peek
Be as quiet as a mouse.
And tiptoe out
While you still can-
Escape the haunted house!!!!
